I’ve been planning to add this list to my blog for a long time – after all, I’ve got a list of my plants, too. But it’s been a lot of work!

First comparing my old, long-ignored book list to the current reality of my bookcases, crouching on the floor or climbing around on furniture to see all the shelves, adding new books to the list and deleting the ones I gave away. Then adding another column for language (I own books in four languages now, and that’s not counting the dictionaries, which would add another four, at least if you count Quenya and Sindarin.) Adding yet another column and trying to track down English titles for all the books in other languages – that was probably the most time-consuming part! Then adding another column, and transferring the “last read” dates from another list…
